k2-18b

Piece premiered at the Taipei’s CLab on March 18th 2020.
k2-18b (EPIC 201912552 b) is an exoplanet orbiting the red dwarf k2-18, located 124 light-years away from Earth. k2-18b is part of a long series of generative pieces using the taxonomy of exoplanets. This inspiration source is a dedication to 1989 Iannis Xenakis’s Voyage Absolu des Unari vers Andromède. Those series are generative and do not exist until the very moment they deploy themselves into the real-time; their materialization. The performance presented during the concert will then be unique and interpreted onsite by a machine. Its 3-dimensional fabrication consists on a digital post-romantic idea of an artificial nature based on unreal physical models of timbres, spaces and microscopic rhythms.
